Amrut Energy Pvt Ltd, a leading manufacturer of solar water pumps and renewable energy solutions from Ahmedabad, has successfully raised ₹100 crores in funding from private equity investors. This investment will propel the company’s rapid growth, expand its manufacturing capabilities, drive research and development, and scale operations across underserved regions.

Solartive in Jharkhand, GK Energy in Maharashtra, Or Shakti Pumps, a national player today that started off in Central India, are just some of the names that come to mind. With strong growth and profitability, these firms have been able to attract investors despite the risk of government dependent businesses in most cases. This is largely due to a much improved record of timely payments from relevant government agencies, pushed by the central government that oversees PMKUSUM. With a significant volume of targets to be met, the solar pumps sector is expected to continue a strong run in the foreseeable future, with a large opportunity in Ground mounted projects on waste lands in rural areas seen as an especially big emerging opportunity.
