AMP Energy India to Kick Off Construction on 120MW Solar Project in Haryana

After construction commenced on Uttar Pradesh’s (UP’s) 120 MW open access solar power project last month, clean energy power producer, AMP Energy India, is mulling to soon kick-start construction on another 120 MWp open access solar project in the state of Haryana.

The company spokesperson when contacted said that, the estimated investment on the project is expected to be Rs 400 crore and it will be one of the largest open access solar energy projects in Haryana.

Further, it had also inked long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the project for a period of 15-25 years.

Moreover, this project has been allocated to AMP Energy India by the state government of Haryana.

Commenting on the development, AMP Energy India, CEO, Pinaki Bhattacharyya said “in our consistent endeavour to supply clean & affordable solar energy to our customers, we are setting up this 120 MW project in Haryana. We are thankful to the state for coming out with an innovative mechanism and support to make this happen. This project will help the state meet its solar RPO along-with bringing local development by employment generation, social and environmental development of the state thereby making it an attractive investment destination.”

Additionally, Amp’s Indian arm is expected to commission the project in an approximate time frame of six to eight months in a phased manner, as it is spread across Kuranganwali and Chormar Khera villages of Sirsa district in Haryana.

Post completion, the project will supply power to high credit worthy Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy users and is expected to generate approximately 1,000 jobs in the construction, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and security sector for both the locations.

Besides, the project will have its environmental, social, economic and other benefits too including job creation for the local community; leased lands will provide long term income to farmers; setting up of clean water ATMs and microgrids nearby installations to provide local community with regular power; it will also help in trimming CO2 emissions of upto 41,40,000 MT which is equivalent to planting approx. 24 lakh trees over the complete lifecycle of the plant.
