Amara Raja Reports Solid Q1 Results, Commissions 90 MW Solar For NTPC

Hyderabad based Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited (ARE&M), (formerly known as Amara Raja Batteries Limited), has reported profit before tax of ₹ 328.66 Cr for Q1 of FY25 registering a growth rate of 23% over Q1 of FY24.

The revenue growth was aided by year-on-year healthy volumes registered in the automotive after-market, OEMs, and export markets.

Speaking on the results, Harshavardhana Gourineni, Executive Director, Automotive & Industrial Batteries says, “Our revenue and profit numbers are a testament to our sustained growth story. In the last quarter, we have seen good traction from our international operations. This was spearheaded by the offtake of our indigenously designed AGM batteries. We are betting big on growing this space in the coming months. We will continue to build our product range, cater to newer segments, and strengthen our global presence.”

“We have seen healthy growth from our chargers and battery packs business and have successfully forged partnerships with GIB and Highstar for our cell technology and commercialisation. We have also begun to successfully forge customer alliances, which gives us confidence on the steps we have taken so far. The construction of the first phase of our cell manufacturing and advanced energy research and innovation centre is proceeding in a phase-wise manner,” said Executive Director, New Energy Business, Vikramadithya Gourineni.

On the same day as its results Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL), part of the $2 billion Amara Raja Group, declared the successfull commissioning NTPC’s Anta (Ground Mounted) Solar PV Project of 90 MW/135MWp.

This project, spanning across 437-acres site in Anta, Baran District of Rajasthan, is the country’s first Balance of System (BoS) Solar contract awarded in 2021 from a CPSU. It is set to generate 213 million units of green energy per year and is commissioned in the existing premises of gas-fired thermal power station of NTPC in Anta.

The landmark project is part of ARIPL’s current 2000MW Solar PV Portfolio and constructed transmission infrastructure for evacuation of over 7500MW of renewable energy through EHV Sub-Station and Transmission lines in India.
