The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has now issued its latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The latest list from the MNRE revealed the addition of newly enlisted capacity from four solar companies.

These four companies include Solar, Novasys, Bluebird and ReNew. These renewable companies added 2271 MW of new capacities in the latest ALMM. This was in comparison to the last ALMM, issued by the MNRE on October 28, 2024. With the addition of the new capacities, India’s total ALMM enlisted solar module manufacturing capacity touched 62,765 MW.

New increased capacities of 4 firms

Saatvik Solar reported a total enlisted capacity of 566 in the last list. This increased to 1740 MW, leading to an addition of 1174 MW of new capacities.

Novasys earlier had an ALMM capacity of 261 MW. This touched 442 in the latest list, showing an increase of 181 MW. Similarly, Bluebird had a capacity of 100 MW in the last list of October 2024. This increased to 106 MW, showing an increase of 6 MW.

Meanwhile, ReNew which had its capacity at 856 from its Dholera plant increased its capacity to 1766 MW. This led to an increase of 910 MW of new capacities for the solar company.

Total 95 enlisted companies

The latest ALMM of the ministry witnessed a total of 95 solar companies, spread across India. These 95 companies cumulately have a total enlisted capacity of 62.76 GW. However, India’s total solar module manufacturing capacity is beyond the ALMM. A number of solar modules that are not enlisted under this list are also producing solar modules for the Indian solar market and for exports. According to industry experts, India’s current solar module manufacturing capacities lie around 80 GW. As per the government’s own admissions, there are around 130 solar module manufacturers in the country. A number of enlisted capacities, meanwhile also have surplus capacities which are not enlisted under ALMM.
