The company, with its manufacturing based in Anand, Gujarat, has announced its renewed focus on the residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) rooftop solar segments, with plans to expand into the utility-scale market in the near future. According to a company spokesperson, Rotosol had initially ventured into the on-grid inverter business five years ago and was among the first to receive the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its solar inverters. However, after two years, the business was hit and halted due to some reasons. By now with an increased deployment of solar projects across India, the firm is set to try their hands in the new vertical. “We are re-entering the on-grid inverter market with a strong focus on residential and C&I rooftop solar installations. After a year or two, we will expand into the utility-scale segment,” the spokesperson said. Product Launches & Growth Plans Rotosol has an extensive portfolio that includes BLDC motors, AC motors, solar pumps, controllers, and EV motors. The company has now planned to issue its small segment on-grid solar inverters in the range of 3kw-6kw to cater to the residential rooftop solar market. The confidence of the firm towards the sector is bolstered with the rise of new connected under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. The firm on the other hand has planned to launch its solar hybrid inverters around May or June of this year. “Our upcoming inverter will have the capability to be converted into a hybrid model. This is part of our long-term vision,” the spokesperson added. The company has set a target of achieving Rs 1,000 crore in revenue over the next three years, aligning its strategy with India’s growing renewable energy push. “We are currently focusing on single-phase inverters ranging from 3kW to 6kW for residential use, while for the C&I segment, we will offer inverters from 7kW to 60 kW. By October or November, we aim to enter the utility-scale market with inverters of 250 kW or more,” the spokesperson confirmed. Expanding Market Reach & Digital Integration With a network of over 500 dealers across India for its solar pumps, Rotosol boasts of its service network that could be utilised for the same. The company also emphasizes its ‘Made in India’ identity and expects to be categorized as a Class I manufacturer, potentially attracting more government orders. Additionally, Rotosol has developed its own portal and mobile app to monitor solar power generation from its inverters, ensuring efficient tracking and maintenance. With its strategic expansion and upcoming product innovations, Rotosol is set to play a significant role in India’s solar inverter market, catering to residential, C&I, and, eventually, utility-scale projects, the firm told Saur Energy.
