Aether Commissions 15 MW Captive Solar Project From KPI Green By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Mon, Dec 30th, 2024 Gujarat-based specialty chemicals firm Aether Industries recently commissioned its 15 MW Solar Power Project (AutoTracker Modules) under the Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment. The company secured this project from the KPI Green. The company stated in a regulatory filing, “The project was awarded to a KPI Green Energy subsidiary. It is now operational and powering our manufacturing facilities.” The company added, “The project is expected to deliver annual energy cost savings exceeding ₹150 million and contribute substantially to reducing our carbon footprint. By transitioning to renewable energy sources, the company reaffirms its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable growth.” Earlier this year, the company mentioned in a regulatory filing, “Out of the total order for a 15 MW Solar Power Project, KPI Green Energy Limited has previously commissioned a 5 MW Solar Power Plant. With the project now operational, the cumulative capacity of 10 MW is expected to save approximately ₹60 million annually in electricity expenses and enhance the bottom line.” Aether Industries Previous Projects In July 2023, Aether Industries commissioned a 16 MW solar power project (Fixed Modules) under the CPP segment. The solar power farm, located in Gujarat’s Bharuch district, spans 60 acres of land. The phase-wise commissioning of the solar power plant is set to begin in the next financial year, starting in April. The firm has successfully commissioned a 7.80 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. Of this, the wind capacity is at 4.2 MW while the rest 3.60 MWdc is for solar provided by its wholly owned subsidiary, KPIG Energia Private Limited. The said project has been executed by the firm for Mono Steel India Limited in Surat under the ‘Captive Power Producer (CPP)’ division of the company, in compliance with the Gujarat Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy 2018.
