Advait Energy Bags 40,000 Off-Grid Solar Pumps Order In Karnataka PM-KUSUM (Comp A): Centre Allocates 5 GW Capacity To Rajasthan

Gujarat-based company Advait Energy Transitions recently secured an off-grid solar order from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL). The company secured the order to develop 40,000 off-grid or stand-alone solar pumps under the PM-KUSUM Component ‘B’ scheme in Karnataka.

Advait Energy said in a regulatory filing, “The company will design, develop, deploy, and maintain a web-based online portal and mobile application to implement off-grid or stand-alone solar pumps (40,000 units) under PM KUSUM Component ‘B’. The company will develop the project under the scheme in Karnataka.” The company also stated, “The company would develop cloud services, integration with payment and SMS gateways, configuration of RMS devices, integration with the SEDM portal, and operations and maintenance for 5 years.” It added, “The integration of 40,000 off-grid or stand-alone solar pumps with SCADA software under PM KUSUM Component ‘B’ scheme will include 5 years of O&M for the SCADA platform.”

For implementing the project, Advait Energy mentioned, “The commissioning/deployment/Go Live period of the project is 30 days. Project execution will last for 1 year, and the project operation and maintenance (O&M) period is 5 years.”

PM-KUSUM Component B

Last year, government data shared by the Union government before Parliament revealed that a lion’s share of the PM-KUSUM scheme (Component B) comes from five states alone, primarily in the western part of the country. Component B of the Union government scheme mandates the installation of decentralized off-grid solar pumps. The scheme was launched to decarbonize the agricultural sector by replacing diesel and grid electricity used for irrigation.

Union Minister of State (MoS) for the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, shared the latest data on the status of solar pump installations under PM-KUSUM. According to the data, 30 states achieved 42% of their target, installing 540,499 pumps against a sanctioned target of 1,302,327 pumps. Among these, five states from western India—Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Gujarat—took the lion’s share, indicating their interest in pro-solar schemes and preparedness. The data indicated that the cumulative achievement of all Indian states stood at 42%.
