Adani Green Operationalize 67 MW Solar project At Khavda, Gujarat Adani Renewables

Adani Green Energy Twenty Six B Limited, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Adani Green, has operationalized a 67 MW solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat. The company said in a regulatory filing, “With the commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 11,983.1 MW.”

Projects In Khavda On The Rise

Adani Green Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amit Singh talked about the recent rise in solar projects in Khavda. He said in a regulatory filing, “I would like to take a minute to talk about our flagship project in Khavda, which is progressing smoothly as we develop the world’s largest renewable energy plant. To ensure we continue ramping up our execution capability, we have focused on three key pillars, where we are seeing good progress.

“First, we are ensuring that our project execution remains closely aligned with transmission readiness while incorporating forward plans. Second, we are extending our relationships with suppliers—not only internationally for solar modules but also domestically—as ALMM and ALCM compliance comes into play. Third, we are expanding our workforce footprint in Khavda beyond 12,000 people, the largest we have had, and it is growing to support sustained and faster execution of both solar and wind projects in the coming years.”

Further, while discussing their estimated new capacity targets, he said, “Before I give the number, which I know you are all anticipating, let me provide some background. This year, we had an extended monsoon, which typically impacts projects in Khavda differently than in other places due to waterlogging beyond what was anticipated. The intensity of rainfall was quite high toward the end of the monsoon season. As a result, there has been a slight shift to the right on the S-curve of our construction program in Khavda.”

He further added, “At the same time, we have seen good progress at other sites where this issue was not as severe as in Khavda. When looking at the overall picture, along with some regulatory changes introduced in December related to trial runs and certification programs for the renewable sector, adjustments have been necessary.”
