Adani Green Commissions 325MW Wind Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh Sri Lanka Inks 20-Year Wind Power Deal With Adani Green Energy

In Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar area, Adani Green Energy Limited commissioned a 325MW wind energy power plant. With this, Adani Green Energy Limited’s (AGEL) operational generation capacity has increased to 6.1 gigawatts.

324.4MW (325MW) wind power plant in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, had been inaugurated by Adani Wind Energy MP One Private Ltd (AWEMP1PL), a division of AGEL. With Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the facility has two 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), one for 50 MW of power and the other for 274.4 MW of power, both for Rs 2.83 per kilowatt-hour (kilowatt hour). 

The Adani Group’s ‘Energy Network Operation Centre’ platform, which offers technical support, will be used to oversee the newly commissioned plant. The corporation made no mention of the project’s finances in the announcement.

Industry estimates indicate that more than Rs 4.5 crore is needed to install every 1 MW of solar capacity. Totaling 20.4 GW, AGEL’s portfolio of renewable energy assets includes operational, awarded, under-construction, and acquire assets that serve investment-grade counterparties.

Talking about the investments Adani Green has raised, International Holding Company PJSC, a publicly traded company with its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, announced a $500 million investment in Adani Green Energy in April of this year. The $2 billion investment for three Adani companies included the investment. Adani Enterprises received $1 billion through a preferential allotment route, while Adani Transmission received $500 million.

Adani Green Energy raised another $288 million financing facility for its portfolio of renewable assets that were still under construction. The facility is anticipated to assist in financing 450 MW of the company’s Rajasthan hybrid solar and wind projects.

Adani Group recently disclosed its plans to invest in the development of three giga-factories that will produce essential machinery needed to expand renewable energy. The group will invest $70 billion in clean and renewable energy by 2030, including the three giga-factories.
