Adani Green Commissions 250 MW Rajasthan Solar Project

Adani Green Commissions 250 MW Rajasthan Solar Project Adani Green

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has taken another step toward expanding its renewable energy footprint by commissioning a 250 MW solar power project at Bhimsar, Rajasthan, through its subsidiary.

In a regulatory filing, the company announced, “Adani Green Energy Twenty-Four Limited’s latest commissioning has pushed AGEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity to 12,841.1 MW.” The commissioning follows the expected rush to commission projects before March 2025, besides the next key deadline of June 2025, to get the benefit of 100% ISTS exemption for green energy projects.

Growing Presence in Rajasthan

Fresh off the milestone of crossing 12 GW with the commissioning of a 275 MW solar project at Khavda, Gujarat, Adani Green has now added another solar project in Rajasthan. It might yet commission more projects in Khavda before the financial year ends.

In 2025, the company commissioned a 250 MW solar power project at Badi Sid in Jodhpur district, along with a 180 MW solar plant at Devikot in Jaisalmer. These projects are part of Adani’s larger push to accelerate India’s clean energy transition. Additionally, the company refinanced its $1.06 billion maiden construction facility, a loan originally taken in 2021 to develop India’s largest solar-wind hybrid renewable cluster in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Surge

Rajasthan has been making remarkable strides in renewable energy. The state’s renewable capacity recently crossed the 10 GW mark. This milestone was highlighted by Hiralal Nagar, Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge), while addressing the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

According to the minister, Rajasthan’s power generation comes from a mix of sources, including thermal power plants, private electricity generators, and power purchase agreements (PPAs). He also noted that the state’s peak-hour power demand has reached 19,165 MW.
