Adani Green Commissions 250 MW Andhra Pradesh Solar Project Adani Green

Adani Solar Energy AP Eight Private Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Green, has commissioned a 250 MW solar power project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. With the commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 12,591.1 MW. The company had earlier guidance for well over a GW of commissionings before March 31 in an analyst call, and it seems on course to meet those projections with the latest start.

Andhra Pradesh is also set to be the state for Adani Greens first PSP (Pumped Storage Plant) project on the river Chitravathi. With a planned  installed capacity of 500 MW, the project is projected to provide generation for 6.2 hours and annual generation of 1 TWh.

The commissioning in Kadapa comes even as Adani Green’s projects at Khavda in Gujarat continue apace, with regular additions to commissioned capacity expected now from the largest private sector green energy developer in India.

With a target of 50 GW of green energy projects  by FY30, Adani Green is building a portfolio that is dominated by solar, with a mix of wind, PSPHybrid, and at some stage, BESS included in plans. Like othermajor developers, the firm has also started looking beyond the utility scale market to the C&I segment as well, considering the rising demand and better margins from that segment for RTC and FDRE green energy. With its solar projects delivering a high CUF of 25% in 2024, the firm remains one of the strongest in terms of asset quality in India.

At Khavda, 2.4 GW is operational out of a planned 30 GW of renewable projects.

With the Adani Group continuing to be the most integrated solar producer in India, including the distinction of being the only one with backward integration to wafer and ingot level, Adani Green is hoping to ride out any supply vulnerabilities in India on the back of its parent’s strengths.
