Adani Fast-Tracks Khava RE Project, Commissions 275 MW Solar Project

Adani Green Energy Twenty Five A Limited, a subsidiary of the Adani Green Energy, operationalized an incremental 275 MW of solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat. The company said in a regulatory filing, “With commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 12,258.1 MW.” The commissioning follows a 250 MW commissioning last week.

Fast-Tracking RE Project at Khavda

In 2025, Adani has expedited the process to operationalize its renewable energy projects. Most of these projects were located in Khavda, Gujarat or Rajasthan. For instance, in February itself, Adani Green Energy Twenty Six B Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Green, has operationalized a 67 MW solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat. The company said in a regulatory filing, “With the commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 11,983.1 MW.”

Later, Adani Renewable Energy Forty Eight Limited commissioned a 62.4 MW wind power component of its wind-solar hybrid project at Khavda, Gujarat. As a part of the hybrid project, it also commissioned a 112.5 MW  solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat. Additionally, it also commissioned a 57.2 MW wind power component of its wind-solar hybrid project at Khavda, Gujarat.

In Rajasthan, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), last year in 2024, commissioned its 250 MW solar power project. This project is located at Badi Sid, District in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.  With the commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 11,434 MW.

Other Key Players Eying Khavda

Other companies like Gensol Engineering have secured an EPC contract from a renowned public sector undertaking for a 245 MW Solar PV Project at Khavda RE Power Park in Gujarat. This contract, valued at approximately INR 967.98 Crores (inclusive of GST), includes three years of comprehensive O&M services. This marks Gensol’s second major project win at the Khavda Solar Park within a short span.

Gensol Engineering has also secured an EPC contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL). This contract entails the development of 225MW-AC (Equivalent To 276 MWDc) grid-connected solar PV projects at GSECL Solar Park (Stage-III), Khavda. The project lies at the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat. The total bid value for this project, including Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for three years, is approximately Rs. 897.47 crores, including taxes and duties.
