NTPC is readying its 5 kWp floating solar PV plant

NTPC is readying its 5 kWp floating solar photovoltaic power project at the Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Project, Kayamkulam.

Bidding for design, supply, testing and commissioning of 5kwp floating solar PV plant with 5kwp ground mounted solar PV plant started last year in November. Both the projects of 5kwp floating solar PV plant and 5kwp ground mounted solar PV plant are in final stage and are likely to be commissioned within a fortnight.

NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA along with the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) has developed floaters for the solar PV plant. The floaters are made of non-corrosive material.

NTPC at, Kayamkulam has already installed 84 kWp rooftop solar PV power project and the company ready with another rooftop solar project of 84 kW.
