36 CPSUs has committed to develop 18,988 MW of Renewable Energy projects: Piyush Goyal By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Tue, May 10th, 2016 Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said while framing the Scale-up Plan for 1, 00,000 MW of Grid Connected Solar Power by the year 2022, it was envisioned that the Public Sector Undertakings will contribute around 10,000 MW of Grid Connected Solar Power. Goyal in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha added 36 Central PSUs have given their commitments to develop 18,988 MW of Renewable Energy projects, as part of Green Energy Commitment. The Government has up-scaled the target of renewable energy capacity to 175 GW by the year 2022 which includes 100 GW from solar, 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from bio-power and 5 GW from small hydro power. Last week Goyal at the launch of Contract Labour Payment Management System made announcement for a series of upcoming mobile application/ web portals of his Ministries. He informed that the ministry is working to launch a Renewable Energy mobile application for solar and wind power bids and projects; a Transmission app to provide information regarding location of new transmission projects and Coal linkages auction web portal.
