14 West UP Discoms Meet to Take Action Against Defaulters By Zulkarnain/ Updated On Wed, May 16th, 2018 Three contract firms have already been issues show-cause notices for not attending the meeting and a lodging of FIR was ordered against Bareilly based contract firm for its slow progress of work in Moradabad. A surprising meeting was called by discoms of Western UP districts to take stringent measures against some power vendors of the state. The discoms were from districts like Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Saharanpur, Ghaziabad, Noida and Moradabad. During the meeting it was proposed to file FIRs, issue show cause notices and blacklisting of certain power vendors. Three contract firms have already been issues show-cause notices for not attending the meeting and a lodging of FIR was ordered against Bareilly based contract firm for its slow progress of work in Moradabad. Similarly, a firm from Ghaziabad was blacklisted for providing low-quality equipment for a contract. The enquiry has also been initiated to check the claims. Ashutosh Niranjan, MD, Pashimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd (PVVNL) said, “We want vendors to be accountable for the work awarded to them. Anyone having discrepancies in their duty will be penalized accordingly. Now that we are well into summer, the load is comparatively high on the infrastructure.
