Will Start Indian Manufacturing Unit Soon: Kumar Shailendra, Sol Bright By Manish Kumar/ Updated On Tue, Oct 31st, 2023 Highlights : Kumar Shailendra is the Country Head (India) of Sol-Bright, a robotic cleaning service provider for solar panels. With an expertise in dry cleaning, the firm has expanded its market across the country. In an interview with Saur Energy, Shailendra talks about its future plans. Excerpts: Will Start Indian Manufacturing Unit Soon: Kumar Shailendra, Sol Bright How much technological progress has the firm made since 2013? In the sector of dry cleaning robots, we are the inventors of this technology. Around 2013, we invested in this technology. From 2013 to 2023, we moved from Gen-I robots to Gen-VI robots. Now, we are offering Gen-VI robots. It resulted from the experiences and learning we had over the years. When it comes to ARCS, we are the largest company in the world that manufactures, supplies and operates these robots. We use technology based on dry cleaning of the solar panels. It helps us to save the wastage of around 22 million gallons of water every day. What is special about your Gen-VI robots? It is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based robot that can be remotely operated from a single communication centre. You can start all your robots simultaneously with a single click. It reduces the human interference. It works based on the gear-based transmission system. It can last for 25-30 years. It has flexible designs that bolster their climbing potential. The robot’s skeleton is made up of Aluminium, which allows it to withstand harsh weather conditions and corrosion. Due to its aerodynamic design, it can also fight against strong wind speeds. Who are your main clients in India? There are several leading solar energy developers like Adani, Renew, Mahinda, Reliance and others. You name any big developers and most of them would be using our services. In India, installation-wise, we have more than 6 GW of capacity. In the future, we plan to support the Indian government under net zero. By 2024, our Indian factory will go live. It could lead to more direct and indirect jobs in India with the help of our expansion plans. How you see the potential in Indian market? If we talk about the Indian market, the Indian government is having an ambitious target of adding 50 GW of renewable power every year. So, in the next five years, India may add 250 more RE power. We have also augmented our manufacturing capacity accordingly. We hope with our Indian manufacturing plant we can help in better service delivery.
