Madhav Infra Projects (MIPL) has secured a contract to develop a 15 MW floating solar power plant in Chhattisgarh. NTPC-SAIL Power Company (NSPCL), a joint venture of NTPC and SAIL, has sent a letter of acceptance to Madhav Infra Projects (MIPL), an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, to develop a 15 MW floating solar photovoltaic project at the Maroda Reservoir-I in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh.

The Rs 900 million contract covers the grid-connected floating solar project’s design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance, read the NTPC tender document.

The supply and installation of solar modules in the allocated area, as well as the thorough design of the solar plant that includes auxiliary systems for the civil, electrical, and mechanical domains, are all included in the project scope.
In addition, Madhav Infra will oversee the power evacuation system, an annual maintenance contract for key equipment, and a three-year post-commissioning operation and maintenance term.

According to the tender document, the project must be completed within a year of the date of the award. For this 15 MW floating solar project, NSPCL requested bids in January of this year. The deadline for submitting bids was February 2, 2024. Only ‘Class-I local suppliers’ and ‘Class-ll local suppliers’ were eligible to participate in this tender.

NTPC Limited announced its financial results for Q4 and FY24 this month. The latest audited consolidated financial results for Q4 revealed that the company’s total revenues increased by nine percent on a Year-on-Year (YoY) basis. The results indicated that while the company’s Q4 revenues stood at Rs 48,816.55 crore in FY24, during the same period in FY23, its total revenues stood at Rs 44,744.96 crore. This led to a rise of 9 percent in its total revenues.
