Dy. Commissioner, Leh on 25th March 2019, which was followed by a joint site visit on 26th March 2019 in connection with the 5GW SPV Projects at Leh. The land parcels (approx. 2.0 lac kanals), along the river side of the Indus, starting from Nyoma (Lat: 34.422968, Long: 77.394235, elevation 13700 ft) via Moot to Lal Pahari, Hanle were shown to the Dist. Administration team (which comprised officials from LREDA, Revenue Dept., Forest Dept., Indian Astronomical Observatory based at Hanle and SDM-Nyoma). The sites at Chuchul could not be covered in the visit but the Dist. Adm. Team was shared with the details so that they can assess the sites of their own. Another meeting was held after this visit on 27th March with the ADC, Leh wherein he was apprised about the site visit. The ADC has promised to revert with the details of the land parcels (with actual coordinates, kh. No. etc.) free of all encumbrances and ready to be allotted/ handed over to SECI. But the process will take time because of the general elections. He has informed that it would be possible to revert only after 20th May 2019. In the meanwhile, prospective bidders may visit these sites of their own for preliminary assessment. Nyoma is approx. 180 km from Leh and requires almost 3.5-4 hours travel by road. Hanle is another 80 odd kilometers from Nyoma, which is around 2 hours journey. Weather is good now and sun sets around 6:45 pm., with ambient temperature at Leh around 8-10 deg. during day time. Inner line permits are required for visiting Nyoma/ Hanle which can be acquired from LAHDC office, Leh. Visit to Kargil sites will be possible only after May. Any update in this regard would be shared in due course of time.
