As another edition of REI rolls along, there is no doubt that the vibe and energy around the event is as different as it can get this year. The solar sector in India, as compared to even 4 years back, is as different as it could get. Skeptics have been silenced, optimists cannot possibly believe it, and the realists will probably stay there is still some way to go yet.

But with module manufacturing capacity pushing towards 100 GW, cell making hurtling towards 50 GW, and even wafers and polysilicon on the horizon augurs very well for the next few years of growth. Leading to an unprecedented Indian presence at the show, mostly at the expense of Chinese module firms, that find themselves increasingly shut out of the market.

If there is one thing everyone agrees on, it is that the kind of capacity additions we will see in 2024, and the subsequent years leading up to 2030, will make the pre-2024 period look like prep camp.
