India will Achieve Installed RE Capacity Target Before 2022: MNRE Secy By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Fri, Feb 23rd, 2018 International Solar Alliance (ISA) will help mobilise sufficient funds for solar energy projects. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Secretary, Anand Kumar said that India would achieve its target of installed renewable energy capacity of 175 GW well before 2022 for which bidding process would be completed on time. Anand Kumar while speaking at a ‘Action to Transaction’ Meet under the aegis of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi, said that International Solar Alliance (ISA) will help mobilise sufficient funds for solar energy projects. The Secretary added that over the years the renewable energy has become cheaper and is set to replace conventional energy, which is a healthy development. India has one of the fastest growing renewable energy programmes in the World, he said.
