Osprey’s rapid chargers can extend an EV’s range by 100 miles in just 20 to 30 minutes, perfectly complementing the dwell time at garden centers and enabling consumers to recharge in a peaceful and comfortable setting. With eight ultra-fast (150kW) chargers opening later this year, the British Garden Centre in Carmarthen, Wales, will be the first to offer an Osprey rapid charge to its clients. High-power hubs are planned for Wimborne (Dorset), Carr Gate (Yorkshire), Braintree (Essex), and Harrow after the Carmarthen hub (London). According to the size of the site and the availability of electricity, a mix of these larger hubs and some smaller installations are confirmed for a total of 11 further sites. Over the next three years, British Garden Centres, a family-run business with over 40 years of experience, plans to implement Osprey’s charging system at all of its locations around the UK. According to Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging, “The British Garden Centres’ name is synonymous with first-rate customer service, and we’re happy to deliver safe, dependable, and accessible charging at their UK stores.” “We anticipate a successful cooperation as we collaborate to provide EV charging at more of its centers across the nation.” Osprey recently pledged to provide accessible and secure charging when it became the first charging network to contract with independent public EV charging endorsement body ChargeSafe to inspect and rate its sites. This commitment will guarantee that the charging stations at each British Garden Centre are as accessible as possible given the available space.
