Statiq to Build 500 EV Chargers for HPCL Across 12 States

Electric vehicle charging network startup Statiq has announced that the company has received a contract to develop more than 500 electric vehicle charging stations for state owned oil marketing company HPCL.

As per Statiq, these EV chargers will come across 12 states of India: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

Statiq held that according the agreement, it will set up more 500 chargers for all kinds electric vehicles: two wheeled EVs and four-wheeled EVs. These will come up at the outlets of HPCL in the 12 states.

Of the total contract, about 400 EV chargers will have a capacity of 3.3kW and about 100 EV Chargers will be of 7.7 kW capacity. Aman Rehman, head of government relations at Statiq, said, “With HPCL undertaking a major and country-wide exercise in terms of setting up EV charging stations at their petrol pumps, we have won this tender and become a part of their EV infrastructure building up journey.”

Former Partnership 

In March 2022, Statiq collaborated with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) to set up EV charging stations across the country. The two firms looked to raise the number of public EV chargers from over 200 in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand to 10,000 EV charging stations by the end of the year. The objective was to make the charging infrastructure compatible across all EV makes and ensure that complete charging is possible within a matter of 2-3 hours for electric four-wheelers.

Statiq recently received an order from Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd. (REIL) for the delivery of 253 rapid EV chargers to be employed on four critical highway projects. The firm also has collaboration with Ather under which it’s spreading EV charging network in the north, with a special emphasis on the NCR region.
