Rajasthan: NTPC Issues Tender For 240 MW Solar+BESS Project solar-plus-storage

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for a land and power evacuation package to develop a 240 MW solar project with Battery Energy Storage (BESS). This project is slated to come up near the Devikot Solar Project of NGEL in Rajasthan. Bids for the tender will be accepted until April 29, 2025.

As per the tender mandate, the bidders for this project are required to have a prior experience in arranging land for grid-connected solar projects, solar parks, wind Projects, or wind parks, with a cumulative capacity of at least 100 MW. Additionally, at least one project or park must have a capacity of 50 MW or more.

Scope of Work

NTPC said that the successful bidder will be responsible for the design and construction of the terminal bay at the 220 kV switchyard of the NGEL Devikot Solar Project.

Through this tender, NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, expects the bidder to undertake land-related works, including the arrangement of government or private land (5 acres/MW) on a freehold or leasehold basis. The land must be located near the 240 MW Devikot Solar Project in Rajasthan for the development of an additional 240 MW solar capacity with BESS. The bidders are expected to build the project on the land having a lease period of at least 29 years and 11 months. NTPC REL’s tender specifies that government land usage shall not exceed 10% of the total land.

Financial Criteria

NTPC REL said that the bidder must also meet certain financial requirements. The tender specifies, “The average annual turnover of the bidder should not be less than INR 23.50 crore during the preceding three financial years as of the date of techno-commercial bid opening.”
