PM Modi To Launch EV Charging With Rs. 1,500 Cr Investment

PM Modi To Launch EV Charging With Rs. 1,500 Cr Investment

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi recently announced plans to develop multiple energy options, including electric vehicles (EVs), compressed biogas (CBG), and ethanol-blended petrol (EBP), at a single retail outlet.

To facilitate a smooth transition to green energy, decarbonization, and net-zero emissions, while reducing range anxiety for electric vehicle drivers, the Prime Minister plans to dedicate 500 EV charging facilities to the nation. Furthermore, 10,000 EV charging stations (EVCS) are targeted to be developed by FY 2025 at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,500 crore. The Prime Minister will also dedicate 1,500 E20 (20% ethanol-blended) petrol retail outlets, valued at around Rs. 225 crore.

Other Energy Project

Other initiatives in the petroleum and natural gas sector worth Rs. 10,400 crore will focus on energy, infrastructure, safety and convenience of truck and cab drivers, cleaner mobility, and a sustainable future.

Additionally, Modi will launch nearly 4,000 energy stations along the Golden Quadrilateral, East-West, and North-South Corridors, as well as other major highways over the next five years, at a cost of around Rs. 6,000 crore. These energy stations will provide seamless mobility by offering alternative fuels under one roof to energy-seeking customers.

The PM will also dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation, a transformative project covering 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program. located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, the project, developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, holds immense potential as a vibrant economic hub in the Marathwada region. The Central Government has approved this project with an overall cost of over Rs. 6,400 crore, to be developed in three phases.
