Mahindra Plans To Expand Its EV Portfolio With 'Veero' Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has unveiled its new model-Veero, a new light commercial vehicle (LCV) that aims to transform the segment. Priced from Rs 7.99 lakh, the Mahindra Veero is built on India’s pioneering Multi-Energy Commercial Vehicle (CV) platform, supporting diesel, CNG, and future electric powertrains. The company has now planned to launch the electric version of the model soon with an aim to increase its electric vehicle portfolio. In addition to traditional fuel options, the Veero is designed with future sustainability in mind, accommodating an electric powertrain for upcoming models. An electric powertrain model usually entails, an electric motor, battery pack, inverter, charging and thermal management system. This forward-looking approach underscores Mahindra’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of commercial transportation. The Veero’s Urban Prosper Platform (UPP) is standing for its versatility, accommodating payloads from 1 to 2 tonnes and various deck sizes. This modular platform promises operational cost savings, best-in-class mileage of 18.4 km/l for diesel and 19.2 km/kg for CNG. It also features an extended 20,000 km service interval to further enhance profitability. With engine options including a 1.5-litre mDI diesel engine delivering 59.7 kW and 210 Nm of torque, or a Turbo mCNG engine providing 67.2 kW and 210 Nm of torque. The Veero supports a maximum payload capacity of 1,600 kg and offers diverse cargo configurations to suit various business needs. Suited for urban environment The Veero also enhances productivity with over 50 iMAXX connectivity features and boasts a compact turning radius of 5.1 meters, making it well-suited for urban environments.
