Lubi Industries bags BPCL Order for 1400 Fast DC EV Chargers

In one of the larger orders for DC fast chargers , Ahmedabad based Lubi Industries has been awarded a major contract by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to manufacture, supply, install, and commission 1,400 fast DC EV chargers across the country. The order when executed will be one of the largest DC Fast Charging networks in India.

Lubi Industries will deliver 60kW fast DC EV chargers to BPCL retail outlets throughout India, enabling seamless and reliable charging for EV users.

Empowering India’s Green Energy Goals

As India drives towards energy independence and cleaner transportation, the project highlights a strong focus on locally manufactured content and adherence to stringent quality benchmarks set by regulatory agencies.

Speaking on this collaboration, the management from Lubi Industries said, “We are proud to partner with BPCL on this transformative project, which is fully aligned with our mission to contribute to India’s EV revolution. Our advanced charging solutions will not only ensure an uninterrupted charging experience for EV users but also underscore the importance of indigenization in building critical infrastructure.”

Boosting EV Adoption & Promoting Cleaner Transportation

This project will create a widely available, accessible charging network for EV users in India. Oil marketing firms in India have taken on the onus of staying relevant for the next wave of vehicle owners by converting or  actually, adding EV charging options at their pumps. With a network spanning over 60,000 outlets, a significant improvement can be made quickly in the country’s charging network by utilising these pumps well. An issue has been slow progress in previously announced fast charger orders by BPCL, be it with Servotech for over 2500 Fast Chargers back in 2024 or others. Its 5 year old eDrive initiative has made slow, if steady progress till date, offering an app for vehicle owners to find out more about nearest chargers and more.
