Thane-based electric vehicle start-up Lith Pwr Mobility has partnered with Tork Motors and Honda Power Pack Energy India to launch a brand new version of electric three-wheeler named ‘ePRO.’ Honda Power Pack Energy India is a subsidiary of Japan’s Honda Motor Company while Tork Motors is an electric vehicle and charging infrastructure manufacturing start-up. The company statement held that in this collaboration, e-PRO electrical three-wheelers will employ Tork Motors’ powertrain. Honda Power Back Energy will be delivering the Battery as a Service (BaaS) swapping solution. It was held that commercial operations for BaaS have commenced and the primary stint in Bengaluru already hosts a number of swapping stations to smoothen its operations. Tork Motors have been working in the field for years and have quite an expertise in integrating battery swapping players in an environment friendly manner. This has allowed optimum use of batteries offering most mileage besides offering security and longevity. Lith Pwr Mobility stated that it has also efficiently executed a pilot venture in Maharashtra’s Thane last year. According to the company, its powertrain comes with an Axial flux motor supported by the CAN-based controller producing most energy and allowing a general effectivity of 94 per cent. Lith Pwr said that the true objective of the partnership is to step up the availability of clean and green mobility in India. This will lead to a pollution-free and peaceful environment by eliminating noise emanating from vehicles. The electric three wheeler industry is poised for a strong growth considering the rising economic activities in the country, especially in the e-commerce sector. The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) data also reveals that electric three-wheeler sales jumped twofold in the last fiscal when compared to the previous fiscal of 2020-21. A total of 177,874 units were registered against 88,391 units in the preceding fiscal.
