JinkoSolar Gets Supply Order Of Utility Scale Storage To Athens Airport JinkoSolar Holding Co, announced that it has signed a Heads of Terms with kIEFER to supply SunTera, a large-scale battery storage system, to Athens International Airport (AIA), fulfilling its pledge to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2025. When completed, AIA will be the first international airport in the world to operate a 100% self-consumption system, as well as the largest system in an airport worldwide. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Jinko,” Kiefer General Manager Christos Petrocheilos stated. “We are thrilled to partner with kIEFER in this brand-new era of solar energy storage systems in Greece,” said Frank Niendorf, General Manager of JinkoSolar Europe. He also added, “We are thrilled to start this journey with a partner like kIEFER, whose dedication to green transition through innovation perfectly aligns with our vision, to take responsibility for enabling a sustainable future by providing a one-stop solution for clean energy. This iconic project is the first utility-scale storage system to be installed in connection with a photovoltaic system awarded in Greece”. Recently, JinkoSolar made an entry into Bloomberg NEF’s “BNEF Energy Storage Tier 1 List 2Q 2024. The Tier 1 energy storage provider recognition by BNEF comes thanks to its leading energy storage products in the industry. JinkoSolar’s energy storage product line covers various application scenarios, including utility projects, commercial and industrial applications, and residential energy storage systems. The newly released 5MWh large-scale energy storage system SunTera G2 adopts upgraded high-capacity LFP battery, the energy density has been effectively increased by 46%, with a cycle life of over 10,000 times, significantly extending the product’s service life. The noise is controlled within 75db, which greatly reduces the impact of the energy storage system on the surrounding environment during use. With cumulative shipments reaching 200 GW and annual production capacity for mono wafer, solar cell and solar modules touching 75.0 GW, 75.0 GW, and 90.0 GW, respectively, by the end of 2023, Jinko has been a top 2 player in the solar sector for the past 5 years now.
