JBM Ecolife Mobility Bags Rs. 1,800 Cr E-Bus Order From Ahmedabad

Haryana-based JBM Ecolife Mobility Private Limited, a JBM Auto Limited subsidiary, has announced a contract as a bus operator for the Procurement, Operation, and Maintenance of 343 Electric Buses for Ahmedabad BRTS, Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) under Gross Cost Contracting (GCC). The order value is approximately Rs. 1,800 crore. JBM Auto is expected to execute the order within a year. Ahmedabad already has an existing E-bus network which it is augmenting now. Going ahead, E-buses remain a priority for India’s public transportation sector

JBM Previous Projects

Looking back at this year, JBM Ecolife Mobility (P) Ltd secured a $100 million strategic funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). These funds will be infused towards supplying and operating electric buses under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model in multiple states across India in a phased manner. The announcement seamlessly aligns with the company’s mission of taking the green public mobility revolution to the grassroots level in India.

Previousy. JBM has deployed over 1,500 electric buses across 10 states and 15+ major airports in India. The company boasts a robust order book of 6,500+ electric buses deployed and under execution. Notably, JBM has set up the world’s largest (outside China) dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility, located in the Delhi-NCR region, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.

Its consolidated results for the quarter ended 30th September 2024 showed an 11.45% increase in net profit to Rs. 49.15 crore in Q2FY25 as compared to Rs. 44.10 crore in Q2FY24. Sales, including other operating income, stood at Rs. 1,285.98 crore compared to Rs. 1,231.01 crore in Q2FY24, an increase of 4.47%. The company recorded a profit before tax of Rs. 64.92 crore in Q2FY25 as compared to Rs. 60.23 crore during the second quarter of the previous year, an increase of 7.79%.
