Hyundai Motor said that it has signed a strategic partnership with Tata to develop electric vehicle charging stations’ network and amplify EV adoption in India. The official statement says that 60 kW DC charging stations will be installed at 34 EV dealerships of Hyundai in 29 cities. The objective is to serve all kinds of electric vehicles through Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App which ought to enable EV drivers to navigate, locate, make payments, access live status and pre-book slots for the charging stations. This implies hassle-free vehicle charging experience. Hyundai Motor has held that it currently has an expansive network of 34 electric vehicle dealers in 29 cities. They are equipped with AC 7.2 kW chargers. It said that the EV charging time of the DC 60 kW charger is much lesser than AC 7.2 kW charger. Under the new scheme of things, the owners of Hyundai electric vehicles will be given special tariff and end-to-end home charging solutions. The offered solutions will range from supply to installation. As per the agreement, Hyundai Motor will help through its dealerships, space and administrative approvals and Tata Power will look after the operation and maintenance of the charging stations.
