Hero Electric To Source Battery Management Systems From Maxwell Energy By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Tue, Jan 24th, 2023 Highlights : As per the partnership, Hero Electric will buy 10 lakh units of BMS from Maxwell Energy. This procurement will help the automaker in offering safe and performance-oriented electric vehicles to the customers. Hero Electric has announced that it has entered into a long-term partnership with the EV solution provider Maxwell Energy for the procurement of advanced battery management systems (BMS). Under the new partnership, Mumbai-based Maxwell Energy will supply for the coming three years its advanced battery management systems to Hero Electric. As per the announcement, Hero Electric will buy 10 lakh units of BMS from Maxwell Energy. Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric, said that this procurement will help the automaker in offering safe and performance-oriented electric vehicles to the customers. Gill held, “This partnership will also help us build the local supply chain and support the Make in India mission, further reducing our import dependency. With Maxwell on board, we now have two solid reliable partners to future proof our battery designs.” The official statement of Hero Electric held that BMS of Maxwell Energy has new-gen automotive-safety features that supports multiple configurations and chemistries that will be applied in entire range of electric vehicles (EVs) that will be manufactured by Hero Electric. The advanced BMS system is also compatible with high-side switching and hot-plugging that enables easy and affordable battery swapping. Hero Electric is presently aiming at maximizing its foothold in the Indian electric vehicle market and the new collaboration with Maxwell Energy is expected to provide its products an edge over other competitors in the market. Hero Electric said that the two firms will also work on a new range of advanced electronics products for the EV sector.
