EzUrja, in partnership with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Andrew Yule & Company, has launched its EzEnergy Microgrid EV Charging Hub in Kolkata, which the companies claim is among the largest in India and the second largest globally. This initiative is a partnership between Andrew Yule & Company Ltd, one of India’s oldest Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in operation since 1863, and EzUrja Pvt Ltd, a dynamic new-generation e-mobility service provider since 2019.

This charging hub, located at Togami, Thakurpukur, Kolkata, spread over an area of 2 acres and features 300 locally developed electric vehicle (EV) chargers. The EV chargers developed in-house have been designed for robust usage, achieving 80% localisation, aligning with the nation’s “Make in India” vision. EzUrja, with its use of AI, IoT and customized CMS (Charging Management System) is at the forefront of transforming India’s EV Charging landscape.

Speaking at the launch event, Ashhok Kapoor, Managing Director (MD) of EzUrja added, “This launch marks a significant milestone in India’s EV journey to be a major player globally. We are creating a world-class EV charging ecosystem and this hub will not only provide convenient and reliable charging solutions but also showcase the potential of indigenous technology and smart renewable energy management. Indian Charging market at INR 397 billion comprising over 16000 chargers including 2500 DC fast chargers today, is visioned to a whooping INR 2280 billion consisting of 50,000 chargers and 80 GW daily consumption by 2027. EzUrja aims to be a major part of this growth.”
