Exicom to Supply 5L Battery Management Systems to Hero Electric By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Jan 4th, 2023 Highlights : Exicom said that its BMS has employed various innovative technologies around remote health monitoring. Hero Electric wants to offer the safest and best performing battery systems in its EVs. An agreement has been inked between Exicom and Hero Electric under which the former will sell its battery management system (BMS) to the latter. Exicom is a manufacturer of electric vehicle charger and lithium-ion battery while Hero Electric is a leading EV maker in India. As per the terms of the agreement, Hero Electric is looking to purchase 5 lakh units of Battery Management Systems every year. Exicom Managing Director Anant Nahata, said, ”We have been able to advance performance and safety through deeper tech integration.” As per the official statement, Exicom will provide intelligent BMS. It said that its BMS has employed various innovative technologies around remote health monitoring. There are also multi-level safety checks which enable the battery of an electric vehicle to operate within the safe operating area. The firm also said that its BMS system will have advanced features. Key tenets like cell balancing and proprietary ‘SoX algorithms’ enhance the range of electric two-wheelers. It also helps in longevity of battery packs. Sohinder Singh Gill, Hero Electric CEO, said, ”BMS is the nerve centre of electric vehicles and we are constantly evaluating its design and features along with our preferred partner Exicom to offer the safest and best performing battery systems.” Exicom Group is also a leading EV battery charging infra player in the country. It recently revealed that it looks to quadruple its charging venture’s turnover to about Rs 1000 crore in the coming five years as the EV sector is on rapid expansion. Last September, the firm held that it was creating two entities: Exicom Power that will focus on electric vehicle charging business and Exicom Energy that will delve into battery business. It is also investing Rs 200 crore in Hyderabad, Telangana, in a new facility that will help the company treble its manufacturing capacity of EV chargers.
