Etrio Steps Into E4W Light Commercial Vehicle Segment By Bhoomika Singh/ Updated On Thu, May 20th, 2021 Hyderabad-based electric vehicle (EV) maker Etrio has announced that it is planning to step into the electric 4-wheeler (E4W) light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment along with plans to launch more electric 3-wheeler products. The EV maker also announced its entry into the B2C segment with a pan-India dealership network endeavouring to increase adoption of its E3Ws, in addition to opening dealerships in six states. As far as now, the company has dealers in Delhi, UP, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha. Etrio expects that the E3W passenger market, which has been hugely hit by restricted movement due to the pandemic-imposed lockdowns, will certainly recover once there is a demand surge. Consequently, the growth in movement within the cities or in between cities is essentially driven by the increase in demand in the e-commerce last-mile logistics category. Hence Etrio is coming up with E-Trio logistics (E4W)—India’s first retrofitted electric truck, whose final cog is in the testing and quality inspection process, post which vehicles are rolled out for customers. The e-truck comes with a top speed of 60 Kmph, along with a real-life range of 100 km. The truck will have an auto-charging cut-off feature, 20 kWh battery with a five-year warranty of up to 1.3 lakh km, and a smart BMS with low flammability LFP cells. Henceforth, to meet this demand, Etrio is working extensively on the ground with their dealers and stakeholders, including financiers, charging infrastructure players, and others, to build an EV ecosystem in the country.
