Phase-III Of FAME Likely To Get The Highest Allocation From Govt Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that the national capital recorded a massive 19.5 percent sales of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in December 2023. He said that it was the highest growth in any Indian state. He shared the information on his official social media handle. “Delhi records a massive 19.5% EV sales of the overall vehicles sold in Dec 2023. It is the HIGHEST ever among any state in India till date. Overall in 2023, Delhi registered a total of 6,57,312 vehicles out of which 73,610 were Electric,” Gahlot said. EV Sale in 2023 Earlier, in 2023, the Minister of Heavy Industry (MHI) Minister, Mahendra Nath Pandey shared data on the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME-II) Scheme in the parliament. The scheme operated for a period of five years commencing from 1st April 2019 with a total budgetary support of Rs. 10,000 crores. The minister said that upto December 5, 2023, India witnessed a total sale of 11.60 lakh electric vehicles under FAME-II. “Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) formulated Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase II (FAME India Phase II) Scheme for a period of five years commencing from 1st April 2019 with a total budgetary support of Rs. 10,000 crores. The scheme mainly focuses on supporting electrification of public & shared transportation and aims to support through demand incentive 7090 e-buses, 5 lakh e-3 Wheelers, 55000 e-4 Wheeler Passenger Cars and 10 lakh e-2 Wheelers. In addition, creation of charging infrastructure is also supported under the Scheme,” the minister said in his written reply in Lok Sabha.
