The implementation of EV kerbside charging in Delhi was the topic of a meeting called by Jasmine Shah, Vice Chair of the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDCD). The Delhi Government Official also claims that kerbside EV charging, which allows EVs to be charged while being parked on roadside kerbs using either street light lamp posts or through dedicated charging posts, is an emerging concept globally. The Delhi Government unveiled a three-year action plan last month with a target of 18,000 charging stations for Delhi’s infrastructure. The government asserted that kerbside charging is a key strategy for reaching this goal because it makes use of Delhi’s already-existing civic and electrical infrastructure for the deployment of charge points. During the conference, it was determined to use kerbside charging at lamp posts and substation locations that have or are close to areas with on-street parking. The procedure will begin with a trial project that includes 100 kerbside chargers distributed evenly among the three DISCOMs. According to officials, the pilot would be developed under the supervision of DDC, and DISCOMs will take the lead in installing chargers on PWD roadways.
