The first three EV Fast Charging Corridors, Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, Chennai-Bangalore and Bangalore-Coorg, were also established by BPCL. Delhi-Jalandhar Highway Sees Installation of 12 EV Chargers from BPCL Indian CPSU Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has revealed that it is in the process of making Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Corridors that will be set up all over India. It has announced that it has installed EV chargers on the Delhi-Jalandhar highway. This is the fourth Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Corridor in the country. The first three EV Fast Charging Corridors, Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, Chennai-Bangalore and Bangalore-Coorg, were also established by BPCL. The CCS-2 fast chargers, that begin with with 30 KW, have been installed at 12 BPCL fuel stations on the Delhi-Jalandhar-Delhi National Highway, which stretches to about 750 Km. BPCL has set sights on the conversion of 7,000 conventional retail outlets into energy stations. These will provide various fueling options. The 12 newly established retail outlets are a part of its ambitions to porivde a solution to the range anxiety faced by EV owners. The EV fast chargers that have been installed at BPCL fuel stations will make it possible for owners of electric vehicles to recharge their EVs in 30 minutes with a driving range of upto 125 kilometers. Following this, another EV charging station will be found by EV owners. The fast chargers will be self-operated. The process of locating a EV charging station has become simpler with the CPSU having digitised it through HelloBPCL app. BPCL has set itself the goal of setting up EV charging stations at around 7000 energy stations in the span of the next five years. It has come up with a plan to make this possible. BPCL is eyeing the ambition of becoming a Net Zero Energy Company by 2040, in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Recently, the firm had installed 19 EV fast-charging stations at 110 fuel stations. These were established along 15 highways in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
