Convergence Energy Services Limited Calls Bus Operators for Supply of 3,600 E-buses

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the selection of bus operator for procurement, supply, operation and maintenance of 3,600 electric buses and development of allied electric and civil infrastructure on Gross Cost Contracting under PM e-Bus Sewa.

The online bid submission ends on December 14, 2023. The techno-commercial e-bid opens on December 14, 2023.

The bid will be valid for 180 days from the opening of techno-commercial bid.

Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify for bidding for the tender issued by Convergence Energy Services Limited, the bidder must have manufactured and supplied electric buses in the past period from April 1 of the previous financial year till bid due date. The bidder must have also manufactured and supplied at least 25 electric buses in at least one of the last five financial years or in the current financial year.

The bidder must also boast annual capacity to manufacture and supply at least 500 buses prior to the bid due date.

Technical Specifications

The OEM must take responsibility of bus bodies as well as of chassis for the period of warranty assured period. The operator is to ensue refurbishment of vehicle after six years.

The tender fee is INR 25,000.

Earlier too, CESL has issued significant tenders for 4,675 e-buses, 6,465 electric buses, 5,450 buses. There was buzz, however, that the tender for 4,675 buses received poor response from OEMs.
