ACC & ProLogium Partner to Accelerate Solid-State Battery Development

$200 million funding round for solid state battery maker, Factorial Energy

To step-up cooperation in the development of electric vehicle (EV) solid-state battery, Automotive Cells Company (ACC) and ProLogium Technology have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The official statement held that under the agreement, ACC and ProLogium will focus their joint efforts on the collaboration for the development solid-state EV battery development. ‘ProLogium Inside’ EV battery solutions will be developed for customers based on ProLogium’s solid-state battery technology and subsequent supply chain and industrial agreement concluded by both parties.

Vincent Yang, Founder and CEO, ProLogium Technology, said, ” We are a major innovator in battery technology with already proven manufacturing capabilities, and we aim to develop a large-scale overseas manufacturing footprint and cross-culture operational capability as a driver for a more sustainable world with our high-performance, safe and affordable technologies.”

Earlier this year, ACC announced the construction of its first gigafactory in Billy-Berclau (Hauts-de-France) to achieve an installed capacity of 120 GWh in Europe by the end of this decade. ProLogium too confirmed the search for its first overseas gigafactory site for next-generation solid-state batteries in Asia, Europe, or USA in light of the exponential growth in demand for electric vehicles over the next decade.

ACC is an initiative undertaken by Stellantis and TotalEnergies —together with its subsidiary Saft—joined by Mercedes-Benz, and strongly supported by France, Germany, and the European Union. Its second lithium-ion gigafactory planned in Germany for 2025 besides a new Gigafactory in Termoli in Italy.
