Responsibilities:-

This role is contributing to the process automation process industries in Bangalore, India. Main stakeholders are ABB PA units.
You will be mainly accountable for:-

  • Review engineering scope for projects from RFPs, tender document and create value added solutions.
  • Support for bid & proposal activities for electrical scope of supply in process industries.
  • Support in technical bid analysis, vendor document review.
  • Estimation of bulk quantities and support in capital cost estimation for electrical scope.
  • Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels/suppliers.
  • Effort estimation and manpower optimisation based on analysis of previous projects. ( bid stage as well as engineering).
  • Take responsibility of basic and detail electrical engineering for the projects pertaining to Mining, Cement, Metals & Pulp & Paper such as preparation of single line diagram, protection and metering philosophy, load list segregation, design basis.
  • Undertake equipment engineering activities, such as equipment sizing calculations, specifications for electrical items, review supplier offers, review and approve supplier drawings and documents.
  • Plant tray layout engineering for electrical scope based on the 2D-3D layout drawings furnished by customer/OEM. Estimation of cable lengths, trays & all other erection accessories
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors along with preparation of equipment specification and review of offers.
  • Identify the areas of improvement, bring state-of-art technology, optimize and implement them wherever possible, incorporate lessons learnt from past projects.

Qualifications And Experience:-

  • You are immersed in Electrical Power Distribution System for large process plants (MV Switchgear, LT Switchgear, Intelligent MCCs, Bus Trunking), Outdoor and Indoor Substation Design, design of containerized Substations and Control Rooms i.e. Prefabricated Substations/ E Houses, good knowledge on E-House – including construction design, Layout, Plant engineering ie Cable and tray engineering concepts along with lighting, lightning and earthing design. For Normal substation as well as Prefabricated/Ehouse substations in Metals/Mining industry
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in 8-10 years of relevant work experience in electric projects pertaining in Process industries preferable. (Metals , P&P, Mining and Cement)
  • Experience on large electrification projects in Metals industry will be advantage. ( CRM , HSM, Profile Mills etc)
  • Possess working knowledge on AutoCAD, ETAP/ MiPOWER/ NEPLAN & standard knowledge of various electrical standards (IEC, NEMA, ANSI…etc)
  • Minimum B.Tech/ B.E/ Diploma from a reputed University with First Class in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics engineering.
  • You are at ease communicating in good English.
