Staff Data Governance Project Manager

At Wabtec, we are refining Data strategy to create data driven culture. IT Data and Analytics team is building Data governance team to implement new data strategy. This role reports to the Data Governance Leader and responsible for creating, implementing, and managing the data governance strategy for the company including the audit process to ensure standards and practices are implemented efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:-

• Demonstrates an understanding of data governance and applies Knowledge to define/ Implement data governance framework.
• Perform data profiling of source data to assess quality and implement data quality guidelines.
• Influences master data design decisions to ensure optimal operational success.
• Understand & Enforce Data Privacy and security policies.
• Contribute and develop best practices, methodologies and documentation templates.
• Work closely with business to understand business process and create Business Glossary.
• Understand existing environment, tools and suggest better solutions /tools for data cataloging, metadata management.
• Enforce transparency with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively lead project updates and issue prioritization with senior management.

Minimum Qualifications:-

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Overall 6+ Years of Professional experience in Information Technology including 4+ years direct experience in data management and/or data governance role.
• Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modelling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping.
• Experience in BI & Data warehouse, Master data management.
• Strong project management skillset.

Preferred Experience:-

• 3+ years experience with data governance tools like Informatica Axon / Collibra / Alation.
• 3+ years experience with advanced SQL query Analysis or ETL.

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Information Technology.
