Sr. Engineer – EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)

This Exciting Role Offers Opportunity to:

• Incumbent will ensure Implemention of  actions to drive Zero Incident Safety Culture and responsible for achieving Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) targets & objectives.
• Ensure implementation of actions to achieve Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) targets & objectives
• Conduct plant level EHS training programs for MESH Champions and Employees and maintain the training record.
• Establish Weekly contacts with MESH champions to ensure the compliance to the assigned task. Supports Element Champions for implementation of MESH requirements and MESH assessment observations
• Implements and sustain EHS Policies, site programs, and procedures and conformance with Eaton EHS and MESH mandates
• To help Site Emergency Coordinator to excecated the Emergency Preparedness Drill plan and closing the actions as a outcome of the drills for Safety Improvements
• Support to drive & promote zero-incident EHS culture throughout the site and achieve MESH Management program successes through employee support
• Support by Investigating Near miss / Incidents /  SIO’s and find out the Root cause and Corrective and preventive actions
• Drive Ergonomics improvements to enhance the occupational health and wellbeing of the employees
• Anayse Work environment,  timely completion of Work Zone monitoring to maintain the healthy work environment, support in reduction in waste, energy management and  reduce impact of the Test Lab operations on Environment.
• Monitoring of Data for Environmental KPI’s (Energy consumption, Waste, GHG emission, Water consumption in coordination with facility), also identify and drive environmental sustainability projects for site.
• Management of Risk Assessment, Job Safety Analysis, Site level Risk Assessment, Management of Change, and all applicable work permits, Including General, Hotwork, Height Work, Confined Space, Electrical, Move plan inline with MESH requirement
• Support for compliance of 100% EHS regulatory requirements
• Work with Test Lab managers to plan and exceute safety standdown activity as per schedule and maintain record. Engage with Supplier, Contractors and service providers and third party competent person for timely compliance of EHS requirements
• Evaluate proposed projects and introduction of new chemicals that requires to ensure chemical approval system as per MESH guidelines
• Support timely completion of Testing and Examination of Pressure Vessels and Lifting Equipment’s and tackles.
• To assess the PPE requirements and support to maintain the PPE availability, issue, use, compliance and disposal of used PPE.
• Ensure machine safety and guarding requirements
• Proposing and execution of safety promotional activities
• Execution of 5S audits plans and maintaining record

Qualifications & Requirement: 

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Science ) or equivalent from an accredited university/institution.
• Master’s degree or advance diploma in Environmental Engineering /  Industrial Safety
• Min. 10-15 years of relevant experience in Environmental, Health & Safety program management in manufacturing or R&D (Test Lab) environment
• Proven safety track record with experience in developing and implementing safety programs
• Prior experience & strong knowledge related to implementation of OSHA, ISO14001 and compliance for EHS related regulations at country. State & local level
• Knowledge of Risk Assessment Procecess, Various techniques of ergonomics assessments
• Knowledge of Chemicals and its safety data sheets
• Knowledge of various Engineering controls, Machine Safety, Material Handling Safety
• Knowledge of implementation of Behavioral Based Safety programs to build the safety culture and develop good safety climate in the organization
• Lock out and Tag out procedures knowledge
• Problem solving skill, Why Why Analysis, Root cause analysis
• Good Skill on Microsoft Office mainly on Powerpoint, Word and Excel
• Good Communication skills, Presentation Skills
