Pune, Maharashtra Job Posted : Aug 30th, 2024 Job Description You will manage projects for design and development, collaborate with Team leaders and customers, and present, discuss and execute the proposed designs. Project Execution:- To understand the scope of the project, structure of the assemblies, you will be interacting with various Engineering Departments of Atlas Copco group companies and will have the communication with the customers at Product company locations. Able to handle at least 2-3 custom projects parallelly. You will be able to comprehend assigned jobs with respect to project scope & schedule, work on/work with different CAD packages/CAD designers and provide a high-quality job. You will be obligated to follow design codes, work instructions, and check lists on the tasks performed and carry out the cad checking. It will be your responsibility to further develop and expand the scope of activities while working as a good team member. You will have an additional responsibility of being a buddy to new member and glide them smoothly into our team’s processes & workflows. Translate customer needs into the product portfolio of compressors & it’s auxiliaries. You define and assess technical solutions and estimate risks to determine the best alternative. You prepare RFQs, size and select correct sub-components from vendors suitable for categories like ATEX/CE/UL etc. in collaboration with Purchase department. Design and creation/modification of drawings and parts lists for production within the foreseen time. Coordinating tasks between different teams and adapting designs based on calculation / specialist inputs (after pulsation analysis for instance). Writing instructions/procedures. Responsible for safety and quality of the design and execution of risk analyzes. Supporting technicians and handling questions/problems during production process. Dealing with questions and problems within your field of expertise during the design and production process. Validating the work of colleagues (technical & design review). Maintain close contact with our main suppliers in cooperation with the purchasing manager. Coordinate with the competence carriers in the Engineered Solutions Engineering team R&D team and Standard Engineering team. Support the quotation team in interpreting customer specifications, translating them into machine requirements and selecting, calculating and / or installing components. In close cooperation with the project team, contribute to the design of compressors. Provide, if necessary, technical support during discussions with / at the customer. Optimize and encourage the (re) use of engineering standardization concepts. Ensure that all information is centralized and made available to the Global Engineering team. You will report to the Team leader- Engineered Solutions CRP:- As a Senior Design Engineer Mechanical Engineered Solutions we expect: Independently handle and take full ownership from Concept, Design and Development perspective for custom orders. To handle projects which includes high specification requirement from end customer including but not limited to ATEX, CE certification etc. Able to read technical and commercial offer and identify the scope of the project to define special items required. Reviewing & developing technical specification sheets for equipments like Coolers, Pumps, Fan, Induction Motors etc. Design “first time right” by designing for manufacturing (cooperation with suppliers), designing for service (cooperation with CTS) and designing for superior quality. Consulting with various stakeholders (Engineered Solutions, Marketing, Engineering, Production, Purchasing) Continuous and strong interaction with the other design engineers in the local area and the Global Engineering Team. Collaborate with the Contract Engineer/Project Manager during the execution of project. Consult with suppliers when selecting components/technical applications. Consult with Purchasing and/or ‘Material Procurement Coordinator’ regarding the selection of the supplier for parts. Involve purchase in price negotiations with suppliers. Assess the cost and quality of the designs. Safeguard correctness of designs and their specifications Attitude first, willing to provide basic tasks of product maintenance during daily work, besides electrical tasks. Design analysis with the help of other GECIA entities (CAE/CFD, Pulsation team, etc) Co-ordinate with electrical team for requirements from electrical side as per the project scope and define together logic for the package. Educational and Experience requirements:- BE /B Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 8+ years’ experience in the compressor industry or similar products. Knowledge:- Knowledge of Reciprocating compressor Design & application. Proven experience in mechanical design. Knowledge of ATEX, U-stamp, UL & CE certification is must. Knowledge of international standards ASME, API 618 standards would be an added advantage. Knowledge of cooler design, fan selection, Piping design, heavy fabrication. Design of Skid packages for compressor and dryer would be an added advantage. Knowledge of AutoCAD/Inventor 3D Software and Enovia PLM, BPCS Knowledge of Atlas Copco products added advantage.
