Sr. Design Engineer – Control/TCMS

This is a Sr. Design Engineer – Control/TCMS role, reporting to Design Manager in Motion division located in Bangalore. Create, modify, and analyze the design of equipment, systems, or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction on assignments of medium to high complexity using established solutions.

responsibilities:-

• Assume responsibility for the specification, implementation, and documentation of converter software used in customer applications according to design guidelines and best practices.
• Apply expertise to software design and carry out project-specific adaptations to Codesys-based (IEC 61131-3) software.
• Understand and configure control hardware and product firmware to suite project specific adaptations
• Conduct software tests during converter type-tests in the lab.
• Fine-tune the software during vehicle commissioning.
• Provide professional support to service department as well as to the customers.
• Support troubleshooting activities on installed base.
• Internal & External Customer interactions.

Qualifications And Experience:-

• Degree in E&E (Electrical Engineering) or E&C, complemented by proven track record in process control and PLC Software development (including Codesys, or similar IEC 61131-3 based environment).
• Above 5-year experience of Converter Control ,PLC Programming , etc.
• Knowledge of Train Control Management System / Vehicle control unit (TCMS/VCU) will be added advantage.
• Good understanding of electrical installations in rail vehicles (Knowledge on Electrical Locomotive/EMU/Metro is an advantage) will be additional advantage.
• Basic knowledge of high-level protocols like CANopen, J1939, Ethernet (TCPIP/UDP/TRDP), MVB is an advantage.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, other languages are an advantage.
