Sr. Design Engineer (Central Pool-Engineering)

Responsible for manufacturing and design support of blowers, motors, pumps, and gearmotors. Will work closely with local design lead, local manufacturing vendors and remote design resources, to ensure efficient and quality production. Focus is on manufacturing process development, in conjunction with design and drafting efforts, to ensure products are manufactured to efficiently, cost effectively, and within design intent.

Responsibilities:-

• Provides design and drafting support (using SolidWorks) for new and ongoing engineering projects, sustaining & solving issues, configuration related tasks, compatibility checks and overall product development support.
• Experienced in thermosets/thermoplastics, machining, and castings.
• Experienced in design for manufacturability of components (drafts, radius, relief for Mold design)
• Capable of full dimensional and tolerance stack up analysis.  I.e., GD&T
• Ability to understand additional design requirements for a given configuration.
• Understand the need to work/cooperate with multiple departments (R&D, Engineering, Marketing/Sales, Service, Manufacturing).
• Supports project leads, managers, and engineers in creating and maintaining BOM and ECO revisions in ERP system.
• Prepares 2D drawings of parts and assemblies based on existing 3D designs and provided mark-ups.
• Creates, checks, and verifies 3D assembly structures and BOMs for accuracy and supports related ECO/ECR’s entry and data release in PLM system.
• Creates new designs using engineering directions.
• Understanding of documentation management processes related to BOMs, ECOs, ECR and related documentation.
• Complete Project drawings with limited supervision and able to follow standards.
• Awareness of CAD File Management Techniques.
• Fluent in global design practices, 1st and 3rd angle projection, ISO, ANSI, and global standards
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills to effectively collaborate and share information is a must.
• Ensure adherence to quality processes, compliance to regulatory standards as applicable.

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering field (Mechanical, Industrial, or     equivalent) required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 years relevant experience within an international manufacturing environment.  Must have experience in the fields of process and project engineering supporting new product development and delivering new manufacturing processes.

Desired Skills:-

• Experience in design of industrial blowers, motors and pumps combined with shop floor experience will be an advantage.
• Experience with Sheet Metal parts
• Ability to work within a cross-functional, multi-location team is essential.
• Ability to Automate Drawing process and Quality check process.
• Experience with various software applications (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization required.
• Fluent English required and multi-lingual preferred.
