Specialist/ Senior Specialist- Structures, Offshore Wind Energy

COWI’s offshore wind energy business is rapidly growing and that is why we are looking for Steel Structural Engineers to join our Offshore structures team. In this role, your key responsibilities will be:

• Designing steel structures for conceptual, FEED, and detailed design projects, collaborating with a team of steel engineers and BIM engineers to adhere to project specifications.
• Developing steel structures, including internal/external platforms, boat landings, access arrangements, anode cages, and diverse steel connections, to deliver inventive and effective designs aligned with project needs.
• Creating analytical models, computations, reports, specifications, etc. to ensure that designs are equipped to meet the most recent health and safety standards for offshore wind foundation design, spanning from fabrication to decommissioning.
• Optimize the design through skilled examination of results and important design drivers.
• Verifying the design calculations, 3D models, and drawings of other engineers to adhere to COWI QA/QC guidelines. Creating and improving design processes, as well as participating in knowledge transfer.
• Collaborating with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, and other stakeholders.
• Implementing sustainability and using parametric designs in projects.
• Contributing technical expertise in proposals.

Qualifications and Experience:-

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Marine Engineering or similar discipline.
• 12+ years experience in the design of steel structures.
• A track record applying your understanding of structural engineering principles, hand calculations/sketches, and the fabrication/construction process to produce efficient designs.
• Knowledge of advanced engineering concepts such as Fatigue, Dynamics, Non-Linear analyses & etc is advantageous.
• Conversant with design standard requirements such as European, NORSOK, American Indian or any other international standards.
• Good knowledge in review of 3D CAD models in Tekla, Revit, Navisworks, or similar.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team of engineers to deliver work packages.
• Good communication skills in English and experience coordinating designs with other disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and remotely.
