Sourcing Support Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:-

• Sending of RFQs to suppliers (customer specified / AC standard).
• Follow-up with suppliers for RFQs to arrange quotations within specified timeframe.
• Cost and technical comparative for received offers.
• Negotiations with Supplier and suggest suitable supplier for project.
• Ordering of complete BOM in SAP/GEMS and LOI generation.
• Understand EP BOM and order / reserve same in GEMS
• Follow-up with the suppliers for order confirmation.
• Follow-up with the suppliers for on time delivery.
• Market research for assigned commodity
• Order confirmation to be maintained up to 90%.
• Prepare and maintain follow-up sheets/reports to expedite the delivery dates (in line with project delivery dates and production dates).
• Weekly reporting to concerned team members on expediting status.
• Co-ordination with design / sourcing team for technical / commercial queries raised by suppliers. Raise red flags to the concerned in case of delayed deliveries or hold points.
• Creation of vendors and signing of Business Code of Conduct etc.
• Maintain and update master vendor list as instructed by sourcing team.
• Creation of material and part numbers.
• Manual ordering of urgent items.
• Co-ordination with logistics and warehouse for material delivery and pickup, generation of transport orders.
• Maintain master item list to validate shelf life, lead times and cost agreements with suppliers.
• Co-ordination for supplier invoices & claims settlement.
• Acts as a liaison between suppliers and sourcing managers.

Educational requirements:-

• University degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical / Electrical or Instrumentation)
• Fluent in English

Knowledge:-

• Good Command over ERP Systems, knowledge of SAP/GEMS is added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (esp. MS Word & MS Excel).
• Good Command (Verbal & Written) of English is must.
• Knowledge of Engineered rotatory equipment is added advantage.
• Plan & organize effectively with the right sense of urgency.
• Able to work on multiple tasks by giving due importance to each task.

Experience:-

• 4-5 Years of experience in sourcing domain preferably from capital equipment industry.
