Solar Plant Manager

As a Solar Plant Manager you’ll responsible for ensuring that all site activities related to designated projects are carried out in line with the company O&M guidelines and requirements. More specifically:-

• Manage a portfolio of solar plants, ensuring that all O&M works are undertaken in accordance with the contractual scope, efficiently and effectively.
• Support proactively Statkraft HSSE procedures and policies and ensure all department workers adhere to the Statkraft HSSE policies and procedures.
• The candidate will have experience in waste, and water management and record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirement
• Producing O&M plans in accordance with contract and ensure SOPs, SMPs, SJA, HIRA, PTW and LOTO etc. is in place for O&M activities.
• Daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting needed for Management along with RCA report submission in the break down events.
• Maintain daily, weekly, monthly and yearly equipment healthiness checklist; Preventive maintenance planning; Shutdown planning; Daily reading logbook etc.
• Implementation of Main SAP. Plan & implement maintenance schedules and accordingly raise work orders on SAP system
• Day-to-day monitoring and oversight of all on-site contractors including Maintain all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards, aiming at zero breakdown. Maintain a good working relationship with all vendors and OEMs along with Maintaining all onsite records and documentation in an accurate and up to date manner, including but not limited to records for maintenance and site permit compliance along with stock management and procurement of materials.
• Proactively monitor the plant performance, analyse the plant KPIs, identify underperformance areas and manage the diagnosis and remedy related to underperformance.
• Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct the safe operation and maintenance activities at the site. Interfaces with the O&M contractor to review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
• Proven experience with O&M (medium voltage switchgear/circuit breakers/ protective relay systems/high voltage transformers and switching)
• Experienced in managing solar projects focused in maintenance and troubleshooting. Proper understanding of utility interconnections, power evacuation schemes, metering requirements, Electrical and SCADA systems etc
• Manage site level budget and P&Ls, work to reduce costs and increase production. This includes developing and tracking the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
• Well conversant with regulatory framework pertaining to O&M of solar power plants in India which includes Liasioning with government officials (DISCOM, TRANSCOM, CEIG etc)
• Manage warranty claims and Insurance claim management system
• Preparation of service contracts for outsourced maintenance works
• Review the Operational phase risk and risk mitigation plans
• Playing a key part in adopting new sites into the maintenance system
• Develop and/or assist with development of procedures and policies.

Requirements:-

We look for experienced personnel with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes:

• Master/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Managing off-takers and solar sub-contractors.
• At least 5-7 years’ experience in site management of Solar Farms having capacity more than 50 MWp
• SCADA monitoring and strong analytical skill for solar plant performance improvement.
• Central and String inverter experience
• High Voltage experience (more than 220KV level)
• Producing plans and programmes for Operational phase of the Plant.

Good to know:-

• Key HSE Legislation and requirements for the operations of a electrical generator -Solar PV.
• Knowledge of operational requirements for Solar Farms (utility scale)
• Principles of High Voltage operations (>220 KV)
• Strong technical understanding of both AC and DC
• Good knowledge and understanding of solar PV technology
• Read and write Tamil language
