Service Development Engineer VTS

As Service Development Engineer for VTS you will be responsible for the delivery of world class Service solutions into the Global Service Technology Centre’s & Field Service organization to stimulate VTS sustainable and profitable growth. You will primarily focus on new product introduction (NPI) and Design for Service. You will work closely with the team within the Product Companies to ensure that all products launched can be well supported by the global service organization in a scalable and repeatable way

Responsibilities:-

• Actively participates in NPI project design reviews and engages with NPI teams with a Design for Service focus.
• Project manages the NPI service requirements of new equipment, processes including documentation, tooling, or training into the global Service organization. This includes the creation of SOP’s, parts manuals, test procedure, new tooling, service task lists & bill of materials.
• Provide updates on strategy and service readiness in PTM and PCM forums.
• Ensure that all new products can be launched on time and are delivered ‘service complete’ with everything necessary to support them in a decentralized aftermarket environment.
• Creation and coordination of the product service and support strategy and ensuring this is documented prior to product launch.
• Support Service PM in developing a service Business Case and Launch Plan which will include the product description including technical data, sales & repair volumes, project costs, roll-out justification, materials & tooling.
• Ensure all relevant service documents meet the standards set by VTS and that they are approved & are available in latest status via the Service organization websites and trained out using various methods which may include, Face to Face, Video, SOP documentation or individual training modules.
• Ensures that all spare parts required to maintain and repair product are set up in SAP and indexed in the relevant parts lists.
• Change control is essential and communication of change to the VTS service organisation is paramount. Global communication and collaboration with peers, reviews business requirements with Line Manager, Informs the global STC’s & FS organization of any changes or new requirements, actively engages with PC’s, technical, Manufacturing Engineers, Marketing, Logistics, and VTS Central Management. Supports the SIB processes as well as the technical support team

Requirements:-

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent with focus on Mechanical Design or Manufacturing
• Relevant working experiences in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Service of industrial equipment (rotating machinery)
• Project management or NPI experience
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Intercultural competence
• SAP ERP experience, good / advanced level of O365, Visio, being able to quickly adjust to new ISIT systems and processes.
• English at an advanced level, any other language would be beneficial
