Senior Renewable Energy Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who supports the further growth, development, and service delivery of the energy consulting team, with a particular focus on electrical and/or mechanical engineering aspects of our projects, but also business development and project management (leading our internal teams) of Solar PV, wind, energy transition and mini/microgrid projects. Focus on-grid connections and large-project context, structure, and role-players are important. Financial acumen, concerning energy projects and project finance, is required.

We will be looking for you to be responsible for the current project including Business development, winning work client-facing, team leadership, technical skills, written skills, people skills, and contractual skills. Also should be good in writing technical reports & presentations, checking and reviewing reports, drawings, presentations by others, and preparation and delivery of bids and proposals. You will be supported by and provide support to experienced Arup colleagues globally, with an opportunity to contribute to world-leading renewable energy projects and Identify opportunities, positioning Arup to engage with the growing renewable energy market in India.

The Project management (resourcing, financial management, etc.) and delivery of Lender’s advisory, owner’s engineer, and design services within the renewable energy sector including project planning and management, feasibility studies, concept design development, and preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation, Strategic technical advice leading to concept designs and feasibility studies for decarbonization roadmaps, involving electrification, green hydrogen, biofuels, energy efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience :-

• The candidate should hold MSc in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, preferably with a further qualification in renewable energy and /or project management and/or financial management and Chartered Engineer or equivalent
• At least 7 to 12 years of work experience with at least 4 years relevant to business development, project planning development, EPC and O&M contracts, and implementation of renewable energy projects. Should expand the Solar, Wind Power, energy transition work in India but also the global market and should have experience in energy project finance and India energy sector.
• Recognizable experience relevant in the energy sector with specific exposure to renewable energy and decarbonization and experience with green hydrogen production and/or use will be an advantage
• Proficient with MS Office applications and experience with other technical software will be an advantage (e.g. PVSyst, AutoCAD, Revit, DigSilent, MS Project, HOMER, XENDEE) and experience with data analysis and automation will be an advantage (e.g. Matlab, Python, R).
• You will have the opportunity to work for a globally respected consulting firm, travel to other Arup offices as applicable within India and internationally for projects Development from Senior Engineer to Associate level or higher within Arup.
• Driving the development of more junior energy team members in the India & South Africa office, via mentoring and provision of technical and commercial guidance.
